“After a boy pesters his mother for a pet, she throws up her hands in defeat, marches to the store, and buys him a guppy. The boy is not enthusiastic about it, but after doing some research on the Internet, he decides that it’s a cool pet after all. The illustrations, a layering of mediums including line drawings, watercolors, and digital photography, are colorful.”
